Beadlock Installation & Maintenance

Battle Born Wheels beadlock wheels are intended for off-road enthusiasts who understand that beadlock wheels require proper installation, regular inspection, and ongoing maintenance. Failure to follow correct installation and maintenance procedures may result in air loss, wheel damage, hardware damage, or loss of tire retention.

It is the customer’s responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding beadlock wheel use on public roads. Battle Born Wheels makes no representation that beadlock wheels are legal for highway or street use in all areas.

IMPORTANT: Beadlock wheels require routine inspection and maintenance. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure all components remain properly assembled and torqued before and after vehicle use.

Professional Installation Recommended

Battle Born Wheels strongly recommends that beadlock wheels be installed by a qualified tire shop or experienced installer familiar with beadlock wheel assembly. Improper installation may cause leaks, hardware damage, tire damage, unsafe operation, or wheel failure.

Before Installation

Inspect all wheel components, rings, and hardware before assembly.
Verify that the tire size and wheel size are correct for the intended application.
Confirm the wheel meets the vehicle’s load and fitment requirements.
Ensure the wheel, tire bead, ring, and mating surfaces are clean and free of debris, coatings, burrs, or damage before assembly.
Use only the hardware supplied or approved by Battle Born Wheels.

Installation Guidelines

Follow the recommended tightening pattern and torque procedure for beadlock hardware.
Tighten hardware gradually in multiple stages using a star pattern to ensure even clamp load.
Do not fully tighten one bolt at a time before the others are seated.
Do not use damaged, stretched, corroded, or incorrect hardware.
Do not overtorque or undertorque beadlock hardware.
Do not use impact tools for final torque.
Confirm the tire bead is properly seated and the ring is evenly clamped before use.

Torque and Retorque Requirements

Battle Born Wheels recommends tightening beadlock hardware in multiple stages using a star pattern to promote even ring clamping and proper bead retention.

Beadlock bolts should be step-torqued in stages as follows:

Step 1: 10 ft-lbs
Step 2: 18 ft-lbs
Step 3: 25 ft-lbs final torque

Do not fully tighten individual bolts before the ring is evenly seated. After reaching final torque, verify all hardware again in the same star pattern.

After initial installation, beadlock hardware must be rechecked and retorqued after the first 25 to 50 miles of driving or initial off-road use, and inspected regularly thereafter.

Lug nuts must be retorqued after the first 50 miles of use and checked at regular intervals.

Vehicles used off-road, in harsh environments, or under heavy loads should be inspected more frequently.

Routine Inspection

Beadlock wheels should be inspected regularly, especially after off-road use. Inspection should include:

Checking beadlock bolt torque
Inspecting rings for bends, gouges, cracks, or impact damage
Inspecting wheel lips and inner barrels for damage
Checking for air loss or signs of bead movement
Inspecting for damaged or missing hardware
Checking lug nut torque

Cleaning and Care

Clean wheels regularly using mild soap and water only.
Do not use acid-based cleaners, harsh chemicals, abrasive pads, or caustic wheel cleaners.
Rinse off mud, salt, brake dust, and road debris promptly.
Dry wheels thoroughly after washing.

Important Use Limitations

Beadlock wheels require more maintenance than standard street wheels.
Impact damage from rocks, curbs, potholes, or trail obstacles can compromise wheel or ring integrity.
Any wheel or ring that shows signs of cracking, severe bending, hardware damage, or structural damage should be removed from service immediately.
Never continue driving on a wheel that is leaking excessively, visibly damaged, or improperly assembled.

Warranty Note

Improper installation, improper torque, lack of maintenance, use of incorrect hardware, use of spacers or adapters, air leaks caused by assembly error, and trail or impact damage are not covered under warranty.
